the beauty of Penang

on our first week of semester break, I decided to go on a short vacation with my boyfriend and his friends. This trip was short and it rained every evening, which pretty much hinder us from going to more places so we have to stay at George town most of the time.

we all know that Penang is pretty mainstream for it's delicacies, yet this is one of the reasons why people would travel all the way to Penang for food! Push carts and hawkers are practically every corner of the street, not forget the interlocking aroma of noodles and ochien+lobak (very heaty food!) that will make your taste buds dance! Lebuh Chulia is our favourite place for supper! If you crave for cafe food (well isn't cafe hopping like the biggest trend currently?), you can just find cafes with cozy ambience to indulge some pastries and sip some tea!

Lets not forget the beauty of Penang - the architecture. I am always astounded by the carvings, colours and structure of these heritage shoplots. and its a pleasure to see that instead of being destroyed, they are well-preserved, seeing these heritage buildings which give you a historic sensation just make you feel good. The temples in Penang are just magnificent, the colours of the exterior are very vivid ; meanwhile the interior is really dark. Makes a pretty vast contrast. Recently Penang Hill has a modern-geometric design tower, architecture enthusiast like me definitely get lured by it's aesthetic.

Guess that's all for Penang, I honestly wish to travel there again to visit more temples, ride a bike around the Georgetown, do some urban sketching, and not to forget, devour some goooood street food!
